wisteria has pods that are hanging from the plant

My wisteria has pods that are hanging from the plants. Should they be picked at a certain time? I live in southwest Penn. and the plant is approx 8 years old. There was one pod that I found last fall; now there are at least 8 pods. I’d like to plant other seeds for more plants.
