Q.My Stag Horn Fern Is Wilting Indoors This Winter.

Zone Northern Maryland, zone 7 | Anonymous added on January 17, 2021 | Answered

It has been propped in a large pot of soil since I bought it 5 or six years ago. It is in a north facing window and I mist it once a day. There is no insect infestation or spots on the leaves. One of the newer sterile leaves is also folded down in a wilt. Should I take it out of the pot it is in and replant it without soil?

If it has been in soil for that long, it would be a good time to mount it on a board or hang it in a basket with organic media. Perhaps your plant needs some indoor lighting to get it through the winter.
