Q.My Potted Persian Lime Tree Doesn’t Have Flowers This Year; Is Something Wrong?

Zone Southington CT (zone 6a) | Anonymous added on June 11, 2022 | Answered

My usually prolific potted Persian lime tree doesn’t have any flowers or lime buds this year. It was moved outside around Memorial Day. It typically starts to flower shortly after being moved, but it hasn’t done so this year. It’s been regularly fertilized and adequately watered, and the soil has good drainage (no “wet feet”). It’s not dropping any leaves and looks healthy to me. I usually get between 8-10 limes a year off of it. What could be wrong?

Has the soil ever been refreshed or changed in the container? Have you checked whether it is rootbound?
