My ponytail palm

My ponytail palm bulb is now 1 m in diameter. The bulb is pushing against the brick wall of my house. I am worried it will damage the brick wall. Can I cut off some of the bulb or stop it from growing anymore? It is approximately 35 years old. Sorry, I do not have any photos of it now.

A Ponytail Palm is a slow grower but it’s base can grow to 12 feet in diameter, this would make it unsuitable for placement near a foundation.
I would recommend removal of the plant before the it causes damage.

A Ponytail Palm is difficult to transplant.
