My Plant Is Drying Up. I Cannot Understand What The Problem Is ?

I had bought this plant one month back it was growing well when i noticed some leaves drying up. After 2 weeks rest of it also started drying and there was a white discoloration near the base of stem. Today one of the plant just came out from soil. What to do ??

There may be some root rot going on due to overwatering. Once the roots are damaged and can't take up water, the plant will look dry no matter how much water you give it.

You could try to save it by replacing the soil with fresh potting soil and cleaning the container before repotting.
