Q.My Plant Is Drying Up. I Cannot Understand What The Problem Is ?

Zone Kerala, India | Anjali K added on September 20, 2020 | Answered

I had purchased this plant one month back. I am new to gardening, hence I don’t know the species. It was growing well for some 3 weeks. I used to water it daily once most of the days and occasionally I used to forget for some 3-4 days. Never allowed water to stagnate under the root. About 2 weeks back I started noticing the leaves turning black at the tips. Then it started drying up altogether. Today one sapling got uprooted by itself from its seed. I could also see some white discolouration near the base of stem just above the soil. I don’t know what to do. I’m attaching pictures beneath

This is two issues. Overwatering, and clay soil. Both will kill the plant fast.

You will need to use a potting soil, and make sure to let the plant dry out, thoroughly, down to about 2 or 3 inches between watering.
