My question is about the yellow spots on my philodendron. Is it necessary to replant into a larger pot?

First you can remove that leaf at the base of the plant. The other leaves don't seem to have the spots that I can see. Check the underside of the leaf for any insects such as aphids, scale or spider mites. Spider mites usually leave some visible webbing but you usually can't see the mites. It also could be overwatering or lack of nutrition. If you haven't fertilized in a long time, try giving it a houseplant fertilizer at half strength. If it needs repotting, that may be the issue. Check the drainage holes for signs of roots and there may be roots on top of the soil. If so, it should be repotted in a container one or two sizes up.
