Q.My persimmon tree was planted 3 years ago. Leaves look very healthy but no sign of fruits coming

My husband trimmed it down so much that he almost cut the whole branches to the bottom. But now, it looks very healthy. However, there is no sign for any buds coming out. Shall we wait for another year to see fruits?
