my outside Hibiscus plant

I have a Hibiscus plant in a large pot outside in my courtyard. I have had it for nearly a year and it has done well. The last couple of weeks, all of the leaves have turned yellow and they are falling off. I water it when the soil looks dry. What am I doing wrong? Also, before the leaves turned yellow, I noticed they were full of aphids (I think). Help!
