se very large planters or just the plants? How does fumigation for termites effect the nutrient level of potted plant soil? Is the soil effectively dead – unable to sustain new shrubbery?

plants that will be under a fumigation tent should be covered. If yours were not, then the fumigation pesticide has infiltrated your potted plants. To err on the side of caution, I suggest replacing all the soil.

You may want to contact the company regarding this since they would know the toxicity of the products used and if it is residual or not.
