Q.My Orange tree did not put on any blooms this year. What is wrong with it?

Zone 77514 | Anonymous added on April 26, 2020 | Answered

Last year it put on many blooms and the oranges were wonderful. It was marked a blood orange from where I purchased it, but, they would not make good what they sold. From a well know place that sells products for our TX Gulf Coast area.

What is your opinion as to when should I fertilize it and are the Miracle Grown stakes for Citrus Trees a good choice? This is what I used…

Also, how can I protect my fruit bearing trees from losing their fruits from our harsh winds. No, my orange tree did not get a chance to lose it blooms…

Thanking you in advance for your assistance.

Assuming your tree is a blood orange, here is an article that will help:

We don't recommend specific products, so it would be best to ask your local nursery about fertilizers after you read this article.
As far as protecting the tree from wind, if it's not in a moveable pot, it would be a good idea to construct a wind screen.
