maple tree has peeling bark and light green spots

Question

My maple tree has peeling bark and light green spots. I lost a pine tree about 12 years ago that had peeling bark. Is this a fungus that can be treated? This tree was pruned about a year and a half ago. This tree is a relatively young tree. It may be 10 years old.
