Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comHi there, I have a majesty palm that’s really going downhill. I basically rescued it from a friend as they were about to abandon it before they moved out of state, and at the time it was doing really well (6 or so fronds, bright green). It’s done well for about a year, but over the past 6 months or so it’s really gone down hill. I found that it had become root bound, so I reported it and gave it some palm fertilizer. It’s battled a few spider mite infestations, which I’ve managed to keep under control with a variety of insecticides and regular misting (I recently got a humidifier and run that next to the pot for most of the day). Within the last few months, it has withered to only 2 fronds, and in the past week both fronds have turned brown. There is a new shoot coming up, which I take as a good sign it’s not totally dead, but I have no clue what else to do to help save this guy. I just bought a small grow light since I have less sunlight in this apartment than I did at my last place (moved here about 7 months ago). I make sure to not let the soil dry out completely between waterings, and I always water deeply and let the excess water drain out. What can I do to save this guy? Help!

It is likely the lighting issue. I think your grow light will help. They need lots of sun and will perish without it. Here is more:
