Q.My lilac bush is losing its colour

Zone Zone 5 | Anonymous added on June 7, 2020 | Answered

It used to be a light mauve but this year I notice it has quite a lot of white blooms plus the mauve seems to be 2 shades? Do you have any idea as to what would cause this?

It could be a nutrient deficiency. If you haven't been fertilizing, try a balanced fertilizer in early spring before new growth starts. Pruning keeps them healthy as well.

It also could just be a mutation.
