Q.foxtail weeds in lawn

Zone Columbia, Mo. | Anonymous added on August 20, 2016 | Answered

My lawn has an infestation of green foxtail. What is the best post emergent herbicide? I failed to fertilize last spring and am paying the price now. Would I be better advised to apply post herbicide now or let the green foxtail die over the winter and apply a pre-emergent in the spring?

Yes, using a pre- emergent in the spring is the best option.
I would contact your local county extension office and discuss any recommended products that have been effective in your particular area.
