My Koningskind Clem is being eaten by pests.Tried slug pellets & spray for insects. Complete flower gone.

Leaves have bits eaten and whole flowers attacked. I planted 2 months ago new from nursery and watered in hot weather.

Could be slugs and/or Japanese beetles.

Aphids are a big pest of clematis but don’t leave visible holes. Keep using insecticidal soap each week or try a systemic insecticide. You might also ask about the bugs at the nursery where you purchased your clematis.
