Q.My Kaleidoscope Abelia Has Hundreds Of Small Crisscrossing Branches. Is This Normal And How Do I Prune It.
Plant is in a bed that gets full sun most of the day. There was a wasp nest nestled among the many branches.

Really you only need to cut away dead or diseased stems before new growth starts. Sometimes they produce errant stems (longer than the others) in summer and you can prune those off even with the rest of the shrub.
