white powdery stuff on jade

Question

My Jade gets white powdery something on the stems. It also has dark spots on the leaves and the leaves are dropping! Help! I did read that I should spray it with a very light solution of water and Dawn detergent. But it seems I have to do it every day! I keep my jade on the lanai out of direct sun.

Your plant may have Mealybug.

Neem Oil is a good treatment for any insects or fungus problems.
