Q.impatiens are losing leaves and getting scrawny

Zone New York City/Staten Island | patbergonzi added on August 20, 2015 | Answered

A few weeks ago my impatiens were lush with lots of beautiful flowers. While it has been hot and we did go on vacation, we continued to water the plants. They seemed to be ok. The flowers have stopped now and, day by day, the plants are thinning out. They have become basically stems with a few leaves. What happened and how do I correct it?

Container plants will generally need more watering and twice daily when temperatures are above 85 degrees.

The plant may have become stressed.
