Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI brought my hibiscus on my enclosed porch, which was doing ok at first but then all these little gnats suddenly were all over. Can I cover the plant itself with a bag or will that kill it? I can’t leave it outside but I certainly don’t want all these bugs. Please help.

These are probably fungus gnats which have hatched out of the soil. They can be controlled; the first step is to allow the soil to dry to the touch on the surface; if you can scrape off the top 2-3 inches of soil, destroy it, and replace with builders sand, that will help also.
