Q.My Figs Will Not Ripen,grow A While, Turn Yellow And Fall Off,

I am in SW Florida, fig tree is believed to have originated in Sicily, makes large figs white inside, I was given a shot from the bottom of a large tree near Orlando, Florida , I am in SW Florida, tree is healthy is now at least 5 years old, over 6ft tall makes fair amount of figs ,when mine get about an inch in diameter, they turn yellow and fall off! any clues as to why and what can I do ? thanks Sal

If this is one of the older figs, then it is likely that there is no tree around for pollination. If there is another fig tree that has pollen, then it is possible that the wasps responsible for pollination are not around.

Unfortunately, you may need another tree to obtain fruit.

Many, these days, are self fertile.
