My fig tree will not mature its fruit

I have fig tree, which over 7 years old. Every year it develops beautiful leaves and loads of small figs. Further down the season the leaves start turning a rust color, curl up and fall off. The fruit never matures and so I have never tasted my figs. 🙁 I don’t know if it is too late this season to do anything about this but I would really love to know what I’m doing wrong or what I need to do to help it.

Thank you. (Miami, FL)
