My Crape Myrtle Needs Help

Question

I have a Crape Myrtle, but am not sure what kind it is. I have it planted in the front of my porch. The problem is I have very few flowers at this time, and it is too bushy where it’s located. I always prune it, but it still gets too bushy. I want my crape to look like the ones with no branches at the bottom, just at the top. Can you please tell me what might be the problem?
