Q.My Crinum Powelli Has Not Produced Anything At All, Not Even Leaves. The Bulb Has Just Been Dormant For Over A Year.
It is planted in soil in a pot and I water now and again because I think that it is resting. I would have expected some signs of life by now 1 year on. The bulb is firm with some roots so I don’t know what the problem is. Thanks.

If your Crinum powellii has been dormant for over a year, ensure the bulb is planted with its neck above the soil surface, in well-draining soil, and receiving full sun. Maintain consistent moisture without overwatering and avoid cold exposure. Consider amending the soil with compost for better drainage and apply a balanced fertilizer in spring. If necessary, inspect the bulb for rot and replant it properly. Patience is key, as Crinums can take time to establish.
