My Crepe Myrtle Split

My crepe myrtle’s blooms were so big on the end of its branches that it weighted it down until it split from the trunk. Should I cut that away from the rest of the tree or should I wait until winter to trim the whole tree?

If the bark around the branch is severed all the way around, you can remove the branch now. If it is not, you can try bolting the branch back into place. This article will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/trees/tgen/what-to-do-for-storm-damage-trees-repair.htm [1]
