Q.My cactus soil is not drying

Zone Mays Landing , NJ near Atlantic City | nancyc added on August 22, 2015 | Answered

I added perlite but still holding too much moisture. What can I do? Should I repot them again and not water them? It’s been 2 days and still very wet. I’m worried they might rot because of the water retention.

I would purchase a premixed Cactus Soil potting mix.

Or you can mix your own.
To much moisture will indeed rot the Cactus.
Make sure you have not used to large of a pot, most Cactus prefer or will do better with a crowded pot.
