Q.my bird of paradise leaves are all wrinkled when they start to open. what is the cause

It is in a pot 22 inches by 22 inches, zone 6, lots of plants around for humidity and a south facing window. Never bloomed yet but has 7 crowns with at least 6 to 7 leaves in each. This has just started this last months.
The other leaves are nice and large.
