Q.My Arborvitae Dwarf Conifer (Anna\’s Magic Ball) Is Turning Brown At The Base. Help!

This dwarf arborvitae was planted on a slope last year, May 2019. I noticed last fall that the base was all brown. I gave it some general fertilizer, and coffee grounds. what else should I do?

Generally, they only need to be fed when they show signs of deficiency. Feeding during times of other stress will amplify the stress. Depending on the exact damage, and the soil conditions, it could be many issues. These can range from nutrient deficiencies to soil borne infections.
