Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI have had this plant for about ten years. The plant blooms every year, and it’s starting to bloom this year. Last year it also produced seed pods and seeds for the first time. A new set of leaves has sprouted from the soil several inches from the original bulb. I’m not sure if it’s an offshoot bulb from the original or from a fallen seed from last year. Can I tell which without trying to dig up the “new plant”? I don’t want to cause damage to the old plant or its offspring. If I assume it’s a new plant, when should I dig it up (including the new bulb? Thanks.

It could be an offset sending up new growth. Wait till after August to divide your bulbs. Here is more:
