Q.Mushrooms Are Taking Over The Lawn
We had 1 white mushroom, almost 5 inches in diameter, growing in our lawn. We removed it and tried to get roots-and-all. Now, 10 days later, we have 8 white mushrooms within a 2-foot by 4-foot rectangle and ranging in size from 1 to 3 inches. How do we get rid of them permanently?

That looks like, either, Leucoagaricus or Macrolepiota. It will be hard to tell them apart without photos of the gills, the stipe, the base, and a spore print if possible. In either case, these are both very beneficial to your lawn. Removing them all will require you to cause more damage to your lawn than it is worth. They grow from a very massive mycelial network rather than from roots. Breaking up mycelium like that will cause stress. In response to stress, many mushrooms will rapidly try and repair and fruit to repopulate. Basically, the more you disturb them, the more they grow. As a cultivator of them, I like to break up my substrate blocks for that exact reason. When I come across a mature species in my lawn, I like to kick it over. This allows spores to spread more rapidly.
However, if you would like to try and rid them, you will need lots of fungicides, and to try and change the conditions of the area to be more on the dry side. This article will offer some insight:
