Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI recently planted 20 Arborvitae in hedge row and need to know if I can lay landscape fabric before putting bark down. I don’t plan to put fabric around the base, just around the general area. Thank you for your time.

I would not use landscape fabric under the mulch because of the danger of suffocating the roots. The mulch itself should also not be more than 3 or 4 inches deep, in order to allow roots to breathe.
