Q.moving desert from in ground to pot
We just moved to a location in Florida and are doing some landscaping There are two desert roses in the ground that are surrounded by white rock. It is in full sunlight especially in the summer. I would like to move them into pots and place them elsewhere in this area, but still in full sunlight. What should I expect as to the root base, and is it advisable to do this? I have no idea how long they have been in the ground. Thank you.

Just dig down deep enough to get as much of the roots as possible. The plants should be happy in their new pots if they're getting at least six hours of sun every day and are not overwatered. Here's an article that may help:
