Q.Mountain laurel
We live in the higher elevation of Virginia along Shenandoah National Park where it grows wild in our yard. we have 5.5 acres that are loaded with it.
This year our blooms are all white. Some years we have light pink and a darker pink.
Is it normal to have variations in color year to year or is it just our imagination?

It is very possible to have different color variations. This can be affected by soil nutrient content, as well as temperature and humidity. Don't worry, this is actually happening, and is a neat sight to see.
