Will using mothballs in my vegetable garden, to deter the squirrels, make my veggies toxic, especially when they dissolve as the garden is watered?

You should not use mothballs in the garden. They are made with toxic chemicals that can hurt your plants and you. This article will help with the squirrels: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/pests/animals/get-rid-squirrels.htm
