Q.Monstera limp and wilting
I grew it from a cutting and it was doing well and grew some new leaves too. But quite slow. I had re-potted it a month ago with fertilizer and now it seems to have gone limp and looks droopy and lifeless. Only has two leaves left and no new one is in the pipeline. Seems like it is going to die. I am not sure if it is over watered or under watered. We have had high humidity for weeks and intermittent rains so the soil does not dry out as fast as it did about 2 months ago in summers (when we had temperatures in the mid 40s, celcius).These days we have temperatures in the mid 30s and very high humidity. There is adequate light as it is placed outside, but not hot sunlight. I water it when I feel the top soil is dryish…not quite paper dry but just damp. I just placed a moss stick in the soil hoping it will instill some enthusiasm in the plant. Can anyone suggest what is wrong with it and what I should do? Thanks.
It sounds like the plant may be overwhelmed with moisture in the soil.
It's best to use a commercial potting soil that is light and well draining. The container should not be too big, it should also have a good drainage hole.
Too large of a container can cause soggy roots and root rot.
Make sure the soil is moist but not dry or soggy.
