Monkey puzzle tree

Several years ago I planted a monkey puzzle tree in my side garden lawn which abuts the pavement. It is about 10 feet tall. Bought at Eden project years ago. The tree is 10-12 feet inside the property line. 2 boys were chasing each other and ran into my lawn and 1 scratched his arm and leg on the tree. The mom is really furious that I planted such a dangerous tree. I can see me going out one day and seeing it chopped down! Can she insist I chop it down? It is my property.

Unless your tree is encrouching on public property, I would no know of any reason you would be asked to remove a tree on your property.
