Zone 97229 | jreichert29 added on October 26, 2020 | Answered

I want to start a one tree from seed; do I plant a few seeds in the same pot to get multiple stems to braid, or does one seed produce multiple stems?

It is best to use one plant, since multiple in one container have a tendency to crowd each other out. It will cause the death of one or more of them over time.

Braiding a single shrub will ensure that takes to the container better, and will help achieve more even growth.
