mondo grass

Question

I know it is winter and we are having hard freezes at night. My landscaper planted
my mondo in late October and now it is jan 2018. When will it spread? It gets no traffic.
I have not watered it lately. Should I …. with the temperatures and all? It has mulch. Maybe
I should refresh the mulch. What do you think?

Whether you mulch or not is up to you. It isn't completely necessary, unless you just want it for looks. The grass will return and start to spread in spring through early summer when it starts to flower. Watering should only be done during very dry spells.
