mole control

I set a snap mouse trap in the kitchen to catch a very smart mouse who has been visiting us. I have caught several mice, but this last time I think we caught a mole. It had no visible ears or eyes, long snout and a short tail. Do moles come into the house? My kitchen is over a dirt floor. Thank you.

It sounds like you caught a vole, which looks like a cross between a mouse and a mole. They are known to come in the house just like mice do and should be handled in the same way you would handle mice.
