Miniture Yellow Squash

Last year, I had several plants producing miniature squash, this year it appears all of my plants are of the miniature variety using 3 different seed sources at that. When I say miniature, 3 maybe 4 inches at best, getting hard on maturing. Can send pictures, what gives?

Many thanks for your time and consideration on this, William.

This is, often, due to a lack of phosphorus and potassium, or soil that is too acidic. Sometimes, too much nitrogen can be present, which will have the same effect.

If you fertilize, make sure that you are fertilizing according to what a soil test suggests to add. Adding nutrients to the soil without knowing what is off can lead to nutrient imbalances.

Make sure that your soil is amended with plenty of organic material, or compost. Make sure that the soil stays evenly moist without being too wet or completely bone dry.
