Q.Miniature Kordes roses and winter.

Zone Lacombe Alberta Canada zone 3 or 4 | Anonymous added on August 27, 2018 | Answered

I have 5 miniature Kordes roses that came in 1 med pot. I had to transplant as there definitely wasn’t enough room in the pot for all of them. My question is can these roses be planted outside, we are a zone 3 or 4 given the spot. If so what hints can you give me to ensure they survive the winter. Also if I keep them inside what is the normal way to over-winter them and what size pot should they be in according to their size. Love these guys so don’t want to lose any. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Most Kordes roses are not winter hardy in your zone. If you don't know which Kordes you have, go do Kordes-Rosen.com to figure it out. (It is a German website but the names are given in English.)Miniatures are often grown as indoor plants. I've attached a link to an article on growing roses indoors. https://garden.org/frogs/view/3508/
