Q.Mimosa Is Dead And Yet There Is Some Leafage Sprouting From Lower Trunk

Tree did not leaf this year so assumed it dead. However leaves have appeared on lower trunk what to do.

Do you know if your tree was grafted or grew from its own root? If it's grafted, that is sucker growth from the lower part of the graft and is undesirable and can be removed with the tree. If your tree was not grafted, you can let it grow and you might get another tree!
