Q.Milkweed Is Falling Over

Zone St Louis, MO 63021 | Anonymous added on June 12, 2024 | Answered

Milkweed came in like crazy this year and shot up. We had a heavy rain and came out to see it fallen over. It’s so top heavy and wondering if there’s something I should do to help it. I’ve added supports temporarily.

Staking it is a good option or you can cut it back by one-third to shorten it and encourage branching. Make sure it is in full sun. Shade will make it floppy.
