Mice or Chipmunks Eating Zucchini

Question

Mice or chipmunks seem to be enjoying my zucchini, eating 4 already that have been growing for a couple of weeks. The area is in a garden fence and no other vegetable seems to be bothered by the pests. Any ideas how to keep animals away from the zucchini?
