Q.Mice Feces Affecting Tomato Fruit

Anonymous added on August 5, 2011 | Answered

Just discovered a mouse in my container tomato plants and a half eaten tomato. This is my first time growing tomatoes and while they are doing great, how do I get rid of the mice and will their droppings make us sick if we eat the fruit? Of course, I wash the tomatoes before we eat them, but will the feces get in the soil and affect us?

Since mice tend to be herbivores, their feces will not cause any problems. Just make sure you wash the fruit and you will be fine.
