Meyer lemon fruit stays green

I have had a Meyer Lemon Houseplant for three years. It is about 2′ tall. I put it outside for the summer, and in the south window of a heated garage for the winter. It has formed 6 lime-size lemons in the two years, but none of them have turned yellow. I have not picked or tasted any of them. Do I need to feed it more?
