Mature lemon tree in a pot

Question

I recently purchased a lemon tree in a large pot. Now the leaves are turning yellow and curled and falling.
All the young fruits went very dark and subsequently fell off with many of the leaves also falling.
Where am I going wrong? Thank you in advance for your help
