I have a mango tree which gave fruit for a few years. But for the last two years it is not giving any fruit and it’s not even flowered. What can I do to make it fruit?

There are quite a few reasons why a mango tree will stop flowering and fruiting all of a sudden. Two common disease causes are anthracnose and powdery mildew, but they have very obvious symptoms. If you haven’t seen symptoms of disease, it could be a problem of cold – if mangoes get too cold they just won’t flower.

The most likely cause too much nitrogen. Mangoes have extensive root systems and they’ll leach excess nitrogen from other parts of the garden. Adding phosphorous or bone meal to the soil should help correct this.
