Mandeville: Just Bought At Grocery: What Zone Are They. Can They Be Grown As Bush?

didn’t see this. Any other info on mandeville would be appreciated. I am in PA zone zone 6 or 7. Thanks

They are tropical plants (z 10-11) and should be treated as annuals in PA. In my zone 8, they are not hardy but a neighbor grew them in pots one year. The result of her test was not favorable as the plant is deciduous but grew again from the base in spring. Unfortunately, it spent most the time growing to make up for the lost height that it used to have. She decided that it was more practical for her to get a brand new, much taller, already blooming plant from Lowe's instead.
