Male Kiwi has not flowered for 6 years

Should a male kiwi plant be replaced if it hasn’t produced any flowers for 6 years? I have a friend who comes and takes some of my male flowers to pollinate the female flowers of their vine. If the female plant is successfully producing flowers, why isn’t the male?
